Homework: Homework on MyStatLab will be assigned after almost every class. You will have unlimited attempts at each problem. Due dates will not be extended, but late assignments will be accepted with a 50% penalty. If you will be traveling or without internet access near a due date, work ahead and complete the HW before the due date. Due dates will not be extended for access issues, computer problems, etc.

Quizzes: the quizzes will be given often. These quizzes will cover fundamental skills that are needed to understand the material. If you are absent on the day of a quiz and do not have an official university excuse, you will receive a zero on the quiz.

Policy on late homework and missed quizzes: No late homework will be accepted, unless I give you an extension due to an official university excuse, illness, or serious family emergency. No make-up or early quizzes will be given. Instead, the 2 lowest quiz score will be dropped. To have a third quiz (or more) dropped will require acceptable written justification for having missed all quizzes. Missed quizzes earn a score of 0. Students who are forced to miss class for an extended period should contact me as soon as possible.

Exam make-up policy: If you have an official university absence that happens to fall on an exam date, you must notify me in advance to schedule a make-up. In the case of illness on an exam date, contact me as soon as you know that you will be unable to take the exam. A student that misses an exam without prior notification and acceptable justification will receive a 0 on the exam.

Attendance Policy: The university attendance policy states that regular and punctual class attendance is essential and that no assigned work is excused because of absence, no matter what the cause. Please notify me as soon as possible if you have to miss a class due to an Official University Absence, documented illness, or family emergency, so that I can make arrangements for you to make up your work.
