Nice site for frequently updated data on money and the financial system.  I've been going to this site a lot since the (2008) financial crises has become obvious.  It has weekly releases as opposed to FRED's (below) mostly monthly releases for monetary and financial data.

Report on the Social Security and Medicare Trust Funds Each year the Social Security Trust issues a report full of interesting numbers and tables.  Find out how bad of a condition MediCare and Social Security really are (or aren't) in as well as proposals for reform

U.S. Government Budget Great site! From the Office of Management and Budget.  Information on recent U.S. government budget.  Includes summary tables of income sources, spending sources, the debt and deficit, etc.

Natl. Bureau of Economic Research Macrohistory Database Data on the U.S. economy prior to the Great Depression.  Also some coverage of the United Kingdom, France and Germany.  The organization is a bit hard to follow at times.
U.S. Historical Census Data Browser

Census from 1790 to 1960.  You can choose the series you wish to examine and view it at either the state or county level.  You can calculate simple ratios (ex. Farms>1000 acres/all farms).  Finally, you can generate graphs of your data.
