We will be occasionally using graphing calculators in this class.
You will sometimes be allowed to use a graphing calculator on tests,
but not one that does symbolic algebra. I recommend the TI-84 Plus .
Laptops, iPads, Netbooks, Cell phones, PDA's and iPod-type devices

They must be silent and put away.

Example of grading calculation:
|
- Homework: will be assigned on the web site and some of the problems will be collected and graded. You need to do homework in order to perform well on quizzes or tests.
- Quizzes: will be given each class period. These quizzes cover fundamental skills that are needed to understand the material. If you are absent or late on the day of a quiz and do not have an official university excuse, you will receive a zero on the quiz.
Disabilities Statement: Texas Christian University complies with the Americans with Disabilities Act and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 regarding students with disabilities. Eligible students seeking accommodations should contact the Coordinator of Student Disabilities Services in the Center for Academic Services located in Sadler Hall, 1010. Accommodations are not retroactive, therefore, students should contact the Coordinator as soon as possible in the term for which they are seeking accommodations. Further information can be obtained from the Center for Academic Services, TCU Box 297710, Fort Worth, TX 76129, or at (817) 257-6567.
Attendance Policy: The university attendance policy states that regular and punctual class attendance is essential and that no assigned work is excused because of absence, no matter what the cause. If you have no more than one unexcused absense, I will add an extra 3 points to your final class average.
Academic Misconduct (copied from Sec. 3.4 from the Student Handbook): Any act that violates the academic integrity of the institution is considered academic misconduct. The procedures used to resolve suspected acts of academic misconduct are available in the offices of Academic Deans and the Office of Campus Life. Specific examples and more details are in the Student Handbook.
