Lot's of current U.S. data.  Use the Occupational Outlook Handbook to find out which occupations are expected to be hot in the future!
Economagic Lot's of neat data here.  This is a commercial site lots of good U.S. time series data.  The data is not available in spreadsheet form unless you subscribe ($200 per year) but you can freely copy and paste it as a text file..
Economic Report of the President:  2004 Great site!   Good source of U.S. data since WW II.  Adobe Acrobat files, as well as spreadsheet files, are available.

Great site! From the Office of Management and Budget.  Information on recent U.S. government budget.  Includes summary tables of income sources, spending sources, the debt and deficit, etc.
University of Maryland Economic Data Good links to sites offering U.S., international, current, and historical international data
University of Michigan Survey of Consumers Where do many of the Surveys of Consumer Confidence, Inflation Expectations, etc. come from?  Yep, it's the University of Michigan Consumer Survey!  This site's server tends to be down a lot so you may have to try back a few times.

Natl. Bureau of Economic Research Macrohistory Database Data on the U.S. economy prior to the Great Depression.  Also some coverage of the United Kingdom, France and Germany.  The organization is a bit hard to follow at times.
U.S. Historical Census Data Browser

Census from 1790 to 1960.  You can choose the series you wish to examine and view it at either the state or county level.  You can calculate simple ratios (ex. Farms>1000 acres/all farms).  Finally, you can generate graphs of your data.
Meet the Great Depression Lovely macro data on the Great Depression in the U.S.  It includes data relevant to the debates over the causes of the great depression.
