Course Grade:

Your course grade will be based on homework, 3 class exams, and a comprehensive final exam weighted as follows:

                                             Homework               17%

                                             3 Class Exams          17% each

                                             Final Exam               32%

In the event that your final exam grade is better than the average of your class exam grades, it will instead count 53% of your grade and the 3 class exams will count 10% each.  This system can only help your grade. .  The grading scale for all exams and the homework is as follows:

A = 92 and above                 A- = 90 – 91.9

B+ = 88 – 89.9                    B = 82 – 87.9              B- = 80 – 81.9

C+ = 78 – 79.9                    C = 72 – 77.9              C- = 70 – 71.9

D+ = 68 – 69.9                    D = 62 – 67.9              D- = 55 – 61.9

F = 54.9 and below

The class exams will be given on the following dates

                                                         February 13

                                                         March 27

                                                         April 24

The final exam is scheduled on Wednesday, May 6, 3:00 – 5:30 pm.

Homework will be assigned on most class days and is normally due at the next class meeting.  Homework must be turned in on time except in the case of an excused absence.

You are expected to attend class regularly.  Please note that the last day to voluntarily withdraw from class is March 18.
